Optical Integrated Circuit Manufacturer President
Optical integrated circuits are specific circuits that are using in computers, telecommunication and other high tech devices to optimize the transferal of information within the system. These circuits are much faster and more precise than traditional circuit systems and require very precise manufacturing. The president of an optical integrated circuit manufacturing facility must be familiar with all aspects of optical circuits and the cutting edge technology that they represent. Understanding how the circuits are used in computers and telecommunications will help the president guide the manufacturing standards that will help the company retain and increase their client base.
As the president of the manufacturing company most of the responsibility in the job is directed at directing the company in the best possible direction for current and future production. This may mean deciding what technologies to invest in, what types of circuits to focus on, or even responding quickly to developing trends or changes within the computer or telecommunications industries. Quality assurance, ability to fulfill invoices and orders on time and overall performance of the optical integrated circuits produced will largely determine the companies overall success and therefore are the direct responsibility of the company president.
In small companies the president may directly be involved with the daily operation of the company including hiring staff, training, supervising and monitoring quality and production as well as responding to customer problems, concerns or issues. In larger companies the president may be more of a policy maker and overseer rather than being directly involved with each employee. In large companies the president works closely with department managers and to maintain contact with the facility.
Common work activities include:
- Guiding staff in developing policies and procedures including manufacturing lines, safety guidelines and even policies regarding advancement and promotions.
- Hiring, training and supervision of various types of employees depending on the size of the company.
- Marketing and recognition of the company on local, national or international markets.
- Directing the company in growth and development by responding to the changing needs of the computer and telecommunications markets.
- Expanding and developing the company to increase productivity and types of optical circuits manufactured.
- Working with local industry and businesses on various community based organizations and groups.
