A veterinary pharmacologist studies drugs, including therapeutics, as connected to veterinary medicine and must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. They play a leading role in pet and livestock healthcare. With a university, a veterinary pharmacologist teaches their veterinary medical student's, classes in the study of drugs called pharmacology, carries out drug related research programs and is the clinical pharmacology service director.
