Online Degree Programs in Animation
Animation is about much more than creating characters that will move around on a screen. Even though students will learn basic and advanced drawing techniques using paper and pencil and computer technology, they will also learn how to survive in an often competitive field. Those with animation degrees will be able to find work in computer animation studios, videogame companies, and in the corporate world working in marketing or media departments.
Students will learn many skills that they will be able to apply to their career after they graduate. They will learn how to interact with clients, how to create storyboards, and learn how to work in a team environment. Animation departments teach traditional ways of drawing and how to use the latest computer software that is used in professional studios. Students will also learn how to adapt to new programs quickly. By combining computer technology with drawing and artwork, students will be able to create give their characters movement. It is exciting to be able to write a story, create characters to fit into the story, and animate it using the latest technology.
Most of the coursework can be done over the computer from lab stations that are set up for students to use at any time. Since teamwork is stressed, students will be working in an environment where they will be judged by their peers and also have to work with them on larger projects. Being creative while demonstrating technical ability are the objectives of any animation department.
After graduation, students will be prepared to enter most creative fields. They will be able to use their skills and their talent in creating advertising campaigns, cartoon characters, movies, and videogames. There are many opportunities for those who are willing to work hard and showcase their talent in the workplace.
