Students of Westwood Colleges Bachelor of Science in Animation Program receive hands on training. Some of the areas covered in the hands on training are laws of human motion, physics and psychology, and how they are applied to 3D character animation. Students also receive training in life drawing and rendering techniques, special effects, 3D animation and application of all of these to audio and video production techniques. The U. S. Department of Labor expects that the demand for graphic artists, animators and multimedia designers will grow by more than fifteen percent by the year 2012.
In addition to the creative and practical aspects of careers in animation and graphic arts students will receive training of applied skills such as general management, critical thinking, logic, communication, and problem solving skills to use in the work place. Important business classes are also offered such as how to build a business, business law and an overview of both traditional and e-business models. The Bachelor of Science in Animation program readies its graduates for entry level positions as graphic artists, assistant animators and multimedia designers.
