A Bachelor of Science in Fashion and Retail Management from The Art Institute Online gives the students the skills that they need to get started in the designers’ showrooms and retail sales floors. Students will learn how to develop, analyze and implement sales strategies. Students take courses in buying and merchandising, inventory control, cost analysis. Entry level positions in buying, coordinating runway shows, sales consultation, department stores, boutiques and designer showrooms, etc will be available to graduates of the Fashion and Retail Management degree from the Art Institute Online.
The program consists of a total of 180 credit hours. Sixty hours of which are general education credits to help produce a well rounded student. Some of the courses students will be taking are introduction to retailing, fashion related courses, computer literacy, fundamentals of business, sales and event promotion, apparel evaluation and construction, digital imaging for multimedia and web, business law, business ownership, consumer business and many more core classes for a total of 120 credit hours including six degree related elective hours.
To be considered for admission to this program, students must have completed a general education associate’s degree, a high school diploma or a GED. New high school graduates must have maintained at least a 2.0 GPA. GED certificate holders must have scored at least 225 on their exam.
