As an entry-level course the Associate of Arts in accounting program is a great way for students to start working in the field of accounting, audit or bookkeeping and finance. It is also an appropriate first degree in working towards a CPA or advanced level degree in accounting, business management or finance. Students will learn the fundamental accounting practices and principles in the course through actual business scenarios as well as learning the theoretical aspects of accounting.
Students will focus their course work on accounting basics, but programs in business management, auditing, taxation and legal issues with regards to financial management will be addressed.
