An Associate of Business in accounting prepares graduates to work within the field of business, accounting, finance or management. The program focuses on accounting principles and practices in various types of companies, agencies and corporations. Legal issues, taxation, accounting basics, financial management, financial assessment and reporting is all addressed within the course of study. In addition students will have the option to take other business and general subject area courses such as organizational management or psychology.
Students completing the Associate of Business in accounting can enter the workforce as basic accountants, accounting assistants, general managers or financial assistants. Generally most accounting specific management positions will require a bachelor or higher degree so many students choose to continue their education after graduating from the Associates program.
