The Associate of Science in Accounting program is developed to allow students to gain a complete basic understanding of accounting principles and practices and how they apply to different types of accounting in the real world. Students will use a variety of types of software and technology in the program so they gain an understanding of the type of programs and accounting practices used in the workplace. Graduate will be prepared for entry-level positions as accounting assistants, bookkeepers, and entry level management positions.
Students will have courses on tax law and tax preparation, accounting, bookkeeping and accounting journals and ledgers, preparing reports, managing records and verifying and checking accuracy of all reports. In addition students may take some basic business courses including management, marketing and financial planning as options or electives within the program.
