A Bachelor of Science in business administration with a focus on accounting is a first step towards a career as a business accountant or towards a professional designation as a certified public accountant or CPA. Students will learn both basic and advanced accounting principles and practices and use them in assignments and projects throughout the course of study. Students will also have the opportunity to use the latest and most advanced computer systems and software in accounting and to discuss issues with regards to information technology and security in accounting and information exchange over the internet.

Course in the BS in business administration in accounting will address a broader scope than just business accounting. Classes will include auditing, financial statement preparation and analysis, cost accounting, risk assessment and analysis and effective communication in accounting and business.
