An Associate of Business in human resource management is a specialized program of study designed for those that wish to work in or manage human resource departments. Students will be given the fundamental theory and practice in recruiting, hiring, record keeping, training and working as employee representatives within a company. Since human resource programs rely very heavily on both written and verbal language, communication is a key component of the program in all classes.
Students that complete the course will have to also complete a internship or a cooperative education course that will provide both practical and real world experience for the learner. In addition courses will include legal and ethical issues in human resources including security and records management. Students will gain experience in using databases, information technology and other computerized record keeping software to identify and monitor employee services, deductions, compensation and schedules.
