Teaching young children takes patience, problem solving skills, and the knowledge of teaching methods that will help children learn and retain information so that they will be able to successfully continue the learning process. Since children process a lot of information at a young age, it is important to teach in a fun way that will stimulate their thoughts and imagination. This is done through various exercises and role playing activities.
Students who enroll in this degree program will need to complete the following courses: Early Childhood Education, Growth and Development, and Methods of Teaching in Early Childhood. Students will learn how to create activities that are educational and entertaining at the same time. Students will also learn how to evaluate how well a child is learning and how to improve in certain areas where they may be lacking. Completing coursework for this degree will take about two years.
