Students that currently hold a bachelor’s degree and wish to specialize in teaching science to middle or high school students can complete a Bachelor of Arts in teaching science to complete the requirements for teaching certification in the science field. The program is very practically based with courses on methodology, setting objectives and goals, understanding and evaluating science curriculums as well as working directly with students in the middle and high school grade levels.
Courses in the program will help a graduate develop skills in all aspects of teaching science. In addition to specific courses in science methodology classes will also focus on assessment, assisting special needs and gifted children in all aspects of science education. Students will gain both practical as well as theoretical knowledge of science education though assignments and projects.
