The Bachelor of Science elementary teacher education program applies the principals and concepts of teaching methodology in an elementary school setting; evaluate the student's progress and work; and employ effective communication and strategic instruction with parents, teachers, school administration and students. Elementary teachers make the students educational progress easier, by helping them learn and use concepts in subjects such as, English, mathematics and science. Elementary teachers also use their skills to help students develop critical thought processes, solve problems, and understand abstract concepts. Some teachers may teach one or more special subjects such as physical education, art or music.
In the online elementary teacher education program from the University of Phoenix, course subjects include evaluation and research, class management, teaching methodology, law and ethics, and child psychology.
