The Bachelor of Science in clinical laboratory science program is designed for students that are already working in laboratories and have either a medical laboratory technician or clinical laboratory technician's certification or standing. Students usually complete the Bachelor in Science in clinical laboratory science approximately two and a half years as they continue to work through the program of study. The course builds on existing knowledge and allows students to gain a deeper understanding of the theory behind more advanced laboratory procedures and practices.
Courses will include topics such as ethical considerations and issues in working with patients, procedures and policies in various types of laboratories, legal issues in laboratories and research, as well as management and operational considerations for laboratories. Students will have the opportunity to work under a qualified professional in a local facility to gain practical experience in the theory they learn throughout the program.
