This practical and knowledge based Bachelor of health care management program will provide students with a foundation for management roles within hospitals, nursing homes, health care facilities, clinics and physician's offices. Students will gain experience in supervisory and management decisions and expectations throughout the course of study. Emphasis will be placed on decision making, legal and ethical issues in health care management as well as requirements and skills for developing effective leadership strategies. Conflict resolution and interpersonal and communication skills will be developed and enhanced throughout the program.
Students will complete courses in organizational management, health care legal and ethical considerations for managers, financial and organizational planning, human resource management, staff development and effective leadership strategies and skills.
