The AAS in Medical Transcription teaches the specialized skills needed to successfully work in the field of medical transcription. Students will learn software applications in transcription, medical terminology, correct format for transcribed medical reports, legal and ethical issues in medical transcription as well a communication and collaborative skills with healthcare professionals and physicians. Students will also learn basic medical administration practices and procedures so they can work in other aspects of a medical office besides medical transcription.
