A career in health and human services requires people who are able to communicate with the public, follow policies and procedures that are in place, review and change current policies that are no longer working, and be able to ensure proper patient care through monitoring nursing and others who directly affect patient care. Students will be able to find employment in hospitals, clinics, medical offices, non-profit organizations, and government agencies. Being familiar with patient rights and other laws that have been put into place is essential as all care facilities must adhere to these laws in order to continue helping those in need.
Students should be able to lead projects, analyze reports and other data, suggest changes to current policy and develop new policies when they graduate from this degree program. Learning how to delegate responsibility, keep people on track, and make sure that projects on completed on time are also tasks that those who work in health and human services will have to complete.
