Students that are already licensed practical nurses can complete the Bachelor of Science in nursing to increase their knowledge, skills and opportunities for advancement and specialization within the nursing field. Graduates can then choose to enter the health care field as BSN level nurses, obtaining supervisory or entry-level management roles in clinical settings or they may choose to continue on to Master level or higher training. After completion of this program graduates can apply for their registered nurse licensure examination.
The courses are designed to build upon practical experience and to expand the students theoretical knowledge in areas such as leadership in nursing and health care, patient management, business management, technology and record keeping in health care facilities, ethical and legal considerations as well as interpersonal communication, teamwork and leadership skill development.
