Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in psychology will be able to work in several different types of careers including clinical settings, hospitals, long term care facilities or businesses. Graduates may choose to enter into the field of human resources, marketing, sales or management. Many graduates will also choose to continue on with their educational programs and complete masters or doctorate level programs. Once these levels are completed and all license requirements are completed the graduate is able to work in private practice working directly with clients.
A Bachelor of Arts in psychology is a specialized course of study with options for the student to focus on areas of interest. Child psychology, adult mental health and development, counseling, group therapy, mental health issues, relationship issues, as well abnormal psychology classes are required, but additional courses in these areas will allow for specialization. Courses are designed to provide both theory and skills as well as opportunities to apply these skills in educational and clinical settings.
