Current nurses can choose to continue their education through this specially designed Bachelor of Science in nursing program. The emphasis in the program is less on basic patient care and more on management, ethical, legal and administrative considerations that supervisory and management positions entail. Students will build on their existing knowledge in these areas to be able to work in more advanced positions as well as improve and update their skills with regards to administration and management and current technology used in health care facilities.
Students in the Bachelor of Science in nursing program will complete courses in such topics as ethical considerations for nurses, reflective nursing practices, nursing leadership, working with families and patient in crisis, and transition to professional nursing. Students will be encouraged to increase their ability to communicate effectively as well as assume leadership roles within their hospitals or health care facilities.
