This program of study is designed for more than those wishing to enter into the workforce as law enforcement officers and professionals. The Bachelor of Science in criminal justice degree is also applicable to corrections officers and administrators, pretrial service officers, private investigators, security officers and managers as well as those engaged in treatment or training of those in the criminal justice system. The focus of the program is to develop critical thinking skills, investigative techniques, as well as an understanding of the criminal justice system.
Students in the Bachelor of Science in criminal justice will take a wide variety of courses, with several different specialization areas available for elective courses. Students can focus on juvenile detention and corrections, victimology, forensics, criminal investigations, corrections work, criminal justice ethics, criminal and constitutional law to name just a few.
