A Bachelor of Science in criminal justice with a major or focus on cyber security is educational background that will prepare graduates for a career in internet security, cyber crime investigation, identity theft prevention or security or homeland security. Graduates will be able to identify, trace and analyze computer crimes as well as prepare and collect evidence from criminal prosecution.
The course, while focused on computers and technology in crime, will also cover all the basic areas of criminal justice programs including laws and legal considerations, investigative techniques, criminology, law enforcement and evidence collection and analysis. In addition courses in networking, network security, digital fraud and cyber crimes and operating system security will also be addressed throughout the course of study.
