The Bachelor of Science in criminal justice with a major in law enforcement is designed to prepare new and existing law enforcement officers with a solid theoretical and practical knowledge of current investigative and procedural techniques. The course is also designed to prepare graduates for other careers that are involved in law enforcement such as DEA investigators, Coast Guard personnel, Homeland Security, border patrol agents, private investigators and crime scene investigator or analyst.
Courses in the program will include forensic sciences, investigative techniques, evidence collection and analysis, legal and ethical issues in law enforcement, and criminal and constitution law and court system procedures. An emphasis will be place on working as part of an investigative team as well as developing effective communication skills and leadership abilities.
