Students graduating from an Associate of Applied Science in criminal justice specialization will be eligible for careers as investigators, forensic technicians and crime scene investigators, private investigators, fingerprint technicians or even as crime scene or forensic science consultants working with law enforcement agencies, coroner's departments or even private investigators.
Courses contained within the criminal justice program are very broad in scope to allow students to focus on areas of interest. Typical core courses include legal issues regarding evidence, court testimony and preparation of records and charges. Specialized, practical courses including fingerprinting and fingerprint identification, laboratory analysis of evidence and the correct and accepted method for completing crime scene investigations.
