For those who are already working in law enforcement or other government agencies that cater to helping the public prepare for terrorism, natural disasters, or the cleanup efforts afterwards. Working with emergency medical personnel, homeland security officers develop plans, strategies, and policies that instruct people on how to react when a situation occurs. Since there are both local and federal agencies that help people, the homeland security department needs to work with all agencies in order to be successful in defending the United States from terrorism and helping those in need before and after a natural disaster.

Students will take courses in strategic planning, project management, computer technology, cyber security and monitoring, and human relations in order to work with various groups of people as well as the public. This degree program will train students in advanced procedures they will need to follow and the history of the homeland security department.
