Online Degree Programs in Justice Administration

Justice administration programs allow students to gain practical and theoretical knowledge involving the law and legal issues within the law. Often justice administration programs are completed by those students wishing to continue with a career in law enforcement, as a defense or prosecuting attorney working criminal cases, or those interested in a career in parole, probation or upper level corrections positions. Justice administration programs may also be completed by those already working in some aspect of the criminal justice system that wish to increase their skills and knowledge and earn a degree to make them more qualified for mid and upper management positions within the agencies.

Students in justice administration courses will take a variety of courses ranging from national to international laws and law enforcement policies and procedures through to criminology and crime scene management. Courses will also include scientific methodology, criminology, sociology and even psychology and forensic courses. Students will be able to customize their courses to meet their individual requirements will still completing all course requirements. Those justice administration students that wish to focus on economic and cyber crimes will have opportunities to take courses that address these areas. Legal issues both internationally, nationally and locally as well as ethical considerations for law enforcement play a key component in the courses.

Programs in justice administration are designed to allow students to have both practical experience and practice while still teaching a strong theoretical framework for knowledge. Using computers and state of the art software and hardware components in investigation and management in the criminal justice system the course is very appropriate for those in any aspect of the field. For those students that find they are interested in the technical aspects there are advanced training and certificates in computer forensics and computer crime.
