Sociology is a behavioral science that studies social dealings or relations between not only people and groups but also people and groups together. Sociologists often choose a field in sociology, such as family and marriage, crime and punishment, law, the peace movement, gender roles, women's movement or politics, so they become experts in their chosen field. Students interested in sociology must have an interest in the way people behave, how cultures are different from each other, and how they interact with each other. It is important to have good communication skills, be organized, open-minded and methodical, thorough researchers.
