A program of study in computer network engineering will allow graduates to pursue advanced levels of education or prepare for entry level position in companies, agencies and information technology departments. The Associate of Applied Science in computer network engineering provides students with a strong background and foundation in all aspects of networking and systems design for local area networks and wide area networks. Students will have opportunities to learn how to maintain and enhance existing networks as well as develop new systems.
Coursework will include programs in networking design and implementation, working with internet service providers or ISPs, using hardware and software in networking as well as implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of computer networks. Emphasis will be placed on troubleshooting and problem solving issues that may develop in networking systems as well as establishing security measures for computer networks.
