Students graduating with an Associate of Business in computer information systems/micro degree will be prepared to manage financial reports and ledgers on personal computers and other systems within all types of businesses from small to large. The students will learn the various software programs as well as database management, basic programming and management and security of online information.
Coursework will include accounting classes, business management and financial management as well as more in depth microcomputer courses designed to provide the student with experience with new technology and software. Students will be encouraged and provided opportunities to combine the various aspects of computer information systems to relevant work duties they may expect once they are employed as accountants or managers in business. Emphasis will be placed both on using current technologies and programs as well as modifying or troubleshooting issues with existing information systems.
