Baker College History goes back to 1888 when Woodbridge Ferris founded Muskegon College. Baker Business University was founded by Eldon E. Baker. In 1965 the two colleges merged and became Baker College. It is made up of a series of campuses in Michigan. Baker College holds many accreditations for its specialized courses. It also holds a general accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
Baker College’s latest move to assist all its students in furthering the careers and education was the advent of their online school. They offer undergraduate and graduate programs. Their undergraduate programs offer a certificate in web design, an associate of science degree with four different concentrations (computer programming, computer programming with java), industrial technology and web design. The associate of business degree offers several different concentrations as well.
The Bachelors programs offer degrees in business administration, computer information systems, computer science, bachelor of health services administration, bachelor of leadership and bachelor of web development. Many of these degrees have different areas of concentration to choose from. It is advisable to speak with an academic advisor to see which direction a student should take. It will depend on things like if the student is just for their first degree, what will help a student advance in their current job and many other items.
The graduate department of the online school offers three degrees currently. Master of Business Administration Program, this has concentrations in accounting, finance, general business, management and marketing. Master of Occupational Therapy is also offered on line. The third masters level degree would be the Master of Science in Information systems.
Financial Aid is available to students who qualify. Grants are awarded based solely on financial need. Loans are awarded both federal and alternative educational loans are available. Military tuition assistance is available for veterans and active duty military personnel. Merit and financial need scholarships are available as well.
