Pinnacle Career Institute began in 1953 as a technical college in Kansas City, Missouri, Electronics Institute. June 1992 Mr. Jeffrey C. Freeman and Scott F. Freeman purchased the school and began adding more programs to the school’s curriculum. The sister campus located in Lawrence, Kansas was developed from Mr. Freeman and Mr. Freeman’s school, Lawrence Career College. It was in February 2003 that this school also became Pinnacle Career Institute. January 2005 the school developed online programs to provide training and education to lead to direct entry-level employment.
National and state level accreditation boards accredit both physical campuses and the online programs. The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology accredit the Kansas City campus. The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools accredits the Lawrence campus. The Kansas City campus and online program is also accredited by the Proprietary School Certification by the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Investment act through the Missouri Division of Workforce Development. All locations are approved by the Veterans Administration to participate in federally funded education programs for veterans.

Pinnacle Career Institute offers various certificate and associate degrees both on campus and online. All of the following are available through both traditional classroom education and distance learning: business marketing and management, medical insurance billing and coding and personal trainer. Secure networking and wireless technology is available on line only. Business office administrator, electronics, massage therapy, medical assistant and medical office assistant are available through traditional physical campus locations.
Though it is a private post secondary school Pinnacle Career Institute does meet the qualifications to accept federal student loans, grants and work study programs. There are also alternative private lenders available. They will also accept outside scholarship awards. There are also financing options for eligible students and parents.
