Utica College, which was started by Syracuse University, was established in 1946. Students from all over the world come to Utica College because of the small classes, instructors that excel in their field, and over thirty undergraduate programs offered by the college. Graduate and Doctoral programs are also available. Online programs allow students to benefit from an excellent education without having to stay on campus.
Undergraduate degree programs include accounting, economics, nursing, psychology, public relations, and more. Graduate programs include liberal studies, education, economic crime management, and more. Students can also earn certificates in business and other areas if they want to continue their education without earning another degree. Certificates can be earned in the classroom or online.
Staying on campus at Utica College will allow students to become a member of a community where people know and respect each other. With many clubs and organizations to join, students will be able to meet people who have the same and different interests. With seven residence halls, students will have some say in how they want to live. Students will also benefit from a library that contains hardcopy materials as well as online journals that make conducting research easier.
Utica College also has a career center where students will be able to find career advice if they are about to graduate or when they want to find out more about a particular area of study that will yield job options upon graduation. Counsellors are on-hand to answer any questions. Students will be able to apply for internships, make contacts with local and national companies, and find out when job fairs will be held.
Utica College separated from Syracuse University in 1995 and became accredited as an independent college at that time. Utica added a Master’s program in 1999 and Doctoral program in 2005. Utica College continues to listen to what its students want in order to provide the best education it can.
