For those who want to earn a degree online in nursing, business, information technology, or teaching, Western Governors University can offer students a personalized approach to learning that many online programs do not offer. When students enroll in a degree program, they will be assigned an online academic mentor that will help them create a learning schedule that will contain courses, independent study, online workshops, and other methods in order to learn effectively.
Once students have completed assignments and other course requirements, mentors will assess the students’ accomplishments to see where their strengths and weaknesses are. Students and mentors will work together to build on strengths and improve weaknesses. Working online will give students the opportunity to schedule their own study time and time table for completing assignments.
Western Governors University was founded by 19 western governors of the United States who wanted to offer an online education program to those who could not attend traditional classes in a classroom. The university is an accredited university that can help students advance in their current career or find a new one.
Learning online has helped many people earn a college degree that has led to higher paying jobs, more challenging jobs, and jobs that have potential for advancement. Western Governors University offers students a way to earn a degree without have to leave their current job. Working with mentors, students will never feel isolated. With an online bookstore and library system, students will be able to conduct research any time they want. This will allow students to get their assignments completed and be able to move to the next level.
Scholarships are available to those students who qualify. Tuition assistance and other military benefits are available to those who are currently serving in the military or those who have recently left. Financial advisors are available for students who have questions about paying for college or other costs when enrolling.
