Winston-Salem State University brings high standards of academic and pre-professional excellence to its students, who range from recent high school graduates who enroll in traditional classrooms to adults seeking advanced degrees or specific course credits online. Focused on adequately preparing its students for optimum involvement and leadership in the ever-changing global economy, Winston Salem State University provides technological resources, career-oriented training and hands-on experience to its students.

Located in Winston-Salem, NC, the historically black school was founded in 1892, and now operates as a public, coeducational masters-level institution. As a moderately sized university, Winston-Salem State is able to offer its students extra attention and instruction in class, online, and through academic and career advising programs.
